“No pain, no gain.” Wrong! From the time I was a teenager, I was active in all kinds of competitive sports and physical activities. I joined the navy in Peru where I endured excessively demanding drills. I ran marathons, swam long distances, lifted weights, dove deep in the ocean. I pushed my body to its limits, sometimes even injuring myself. But that was the only way to exercise, right? “No pain, no gain.” Wrong! My attitude changed in 1998 after I had a serious mountain biking accident. I fractured my neck and I had to endure a painful head brace for several months. The doctors told me that my healing process would take years and that I may never regain the same level of health and fitness that I had before the accident. That scared me – I couldn't imagine being limited in my physical movements for the rest of my life. So I decided to create my own plan for recovery – 100% natural.
I read and researched ways to maintain and enhance my body and mind. Reflecting on various holistic philosophies of training – like yoga, pilates, martial arts, gymnastics, boxing and dancing – I created the Mastermoves fitness system. Drawing from my engineering background, I also crafted three training tools called the Master Tools, made from a beautiful hardwood which makes them elegant, durable and portable. Mastermoves starts with developing the core muscles (abs and back) through simple, circular movements. Other Mastermoves exercises work on improving relaxation, flexibility, speed, coordination, strength and endurance. After only three months of training, I regained my health and achieved great fitness. My accident taught me to respect my body and train it properly. Mastermoves started out as a way for me to heal my own body, but evolved into a powerful fitness system that is helping people – of any age and body type – to stay fit. Sincerely,
