Energy Plan
The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body!

With increasingly busy lives, many people regularly find themselves feeling tired and drained. Go to the store, and we'll see a multitude of vitamins, herbs, and other energy drinks advertised as energy boosters. But there's little or no scientific evidence that energy boosters actually work. In most cases, the tiredness we’re experiencing is lifestyle-related, and for that, there are lots of things we can do to increase your energy levels.

Natural ways to boost our energy levels - The additives and chemicals that make junk food attractive and tasty are the same things that contaminate our internal organs. Fat from burgers and fried food is stored (as cholesterol) in our arteries and skin. If you carry excess fat, you are overloaded with toxins and more likely to develop obesity-related health problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. Add to this contaminated water and air, and it's no wonder that so many people feel lethargic and lack the energy to exercise. Below are tips about boosting your energy.

ACTION: Start right now:

  • Reduce Stress - Feelings of stress can mean that you struggle to concentrate, experience racing thoughts and have difficulty switching off. Relaxation therapies like meditation, self-hypnosis, yoga, and tai chi are also effective tools for reducing stress.

  • Get More Sleep - This lack of sleep can result in you feeling lethargic, grumpy and tired. If you often feel this way, you may want to consider whether you’re getting enough sleep.

  • Exercise daily - Exercise almost guarantees that you'll sleep more soundly. It also gives your cells more energy to burn and circulates oxygen. And exercising causes your body to release epinephrine and norepinephrine, stress hormones that in modest amounts can make you feel energized.

  • Eat for energy - It's better to eat small meals and snacks every few hours than three large meals a day. This approach can reduce your perception of fatigue because your brain needs a steady supply of nutrients.

  • Avoid alcohol - Alcohol numbs the brain. It interferes with the way our bodies make energy. It dehydrates the body and inhibits mental faculties from working correctly.

  • Practice deep breathing - Correct breathing should be deeper, shower, quieter and regular. This force more oxygen into our cells, which improves circulation and lowers blood pressure, slowing the heart rate.

  • Practice body relaxation - Regular body massage relaxes the body, increases the flow of blood and give us more energy. It also aids digestion as we absorb essential nutrients more efficiently when relaxed.
